Road transport:
The Laconia branch of the interstate bus company KTEL provides frequent services from Athens and Piraeus to the Municipality of Monemvasia. Meanwhile all settlements in the muncipality are linked by bus with either Molai, Monemvasia or Neapoli.

There are frequent bus services from the New Town of Monemvasia to the gate of the archaeological site (Old Town).
Sea transport:
In summer months there is a weekly ferry service linking Monemvasia with the port of Pireaus, the island of Kythera and port of Kissamos Crete.For 2013 scedule see here.
